Dula and Nick are 20-something, married, highly educated, and now 4 months unemployed. Not looking too hot on the prospects either, though currently we’re waiting patiently to see if Nick got into any of the MFA fiction grad programs he applied to last Fall. Until then, we remain young and sadly unemployed (though occasional temping and odd jobs have come up).
Both characters worked in the sales and marketing end of book publishing before Dula was hired by the Obama campaign for about 18 months. Nick joined just as the banks began collapsing.
We decided to share news, thoughts, school info, fun things we find while surfing the internets, and general life as an unemployed couple living through the next great American economic collapse because, honestly, it sucks and it’s cold outside. I’m gonna go make hot chocolate now.
